Wilmington Weddings & Events October Mixer: #GrowLocal Farmer's Market

Wilmington Weddings & Events is a new resource association for events & weddings being planned in the Wilmington area. The WWE website launched less than two months ago and they've been posting great blogs, highlighting vendors & showcasing real weddings ever since. The website even has a forum for local brides to ask other local brides questions & give tips! Couples can even sell their gently used wedding decor on the forum! We can't say enough great things about Wilmington Weddings & Events but you'll have to check it out yourself!

Every month, a vendor mixer is hosted at various venues throughout town. The RiverRoom had the honor of hosting the October mixer on Tuesday, October 28th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The event was jam-packed with a modern day farmer's market, vendor mingling and a guest speaker to teach us all a little more about business marketing. Haley of Studio Wilde Design Company gave us a presentation on how to better market & advertise ourselves as wedding & event vendors!

Knot Too Shabby Events coordinated one vendor per category to highlight for the month of October! A Boxed Event designed the beautiful event, as well as all of the flowers.

Creative Cake Design by Tammy Hodge designed a fall cake & baked lots of little treats like mini pecan pies for take home, cake pops, apple tarts & chocolate chip cookies finished with milk.

Jackie with Creative Cuisine provided all passed appetizers with paired cocktails. The food was wonderful and the cocktails complimented the tasting perfectly! She also prepared an assortment of cheese & fruit with crackers.

Brian McArtan of DJ Professionals & Video provided the music and photo booth rentals while The Audio Visual People hung the pretty Edison lights from the ceiling. Brick Street Cinema captured the whole evening on film! Stay tuned for a highlights video shared on our Facebook soon!

Wilmington Wine served sangria, beer & wine from the bar!

Camille's of Wilmington brought some beautiful dresses to display, including a 2015 blush wedding dress!

Tyler of TZQ Hair gave out beauty grab bags and applied fun, Halloween inspired lashes! The ladies loved this!

Etc Party Rentals provided all of the burnt orange & eggplant linens, benches, bar stools, cocktail tables, along with the white couches outside.

Our theme for the event was a modern day farmer's market! We had all sorts of produce & goodies on display for the vendors to take home and enjoy later. Here are some of the items from the farmer's market: coffee beans, popcorn, milk & cookies, squash, zucchini, carrots, corn on the cob, parsley, cilantro, apples, oranges, & of course, hangover emergency kits for the day after!
