Tammy's 40th & Surprise Vow Renewal: 11/9/14

On Sunday, November 9th, The RiverRoom had the pleasure of hosting one of our fellow vendor friend's birthday party. Tammy of Creative Cake Design by Tammy Hodge choose The RiverRoom as her 40th birthday party venue. She surprised us all with a surprise vow renewal in the middle of the party! Tammy invited only 100 of her closest friends and family members to be a part of this special day! Kelly with Anchored in Love captured everything on film and shared all of these beautiful photos with her seen in the blog!

Tammy's vision for the big party was an old Hollywood glam party and that's exactly what she got - complete with a red carpet entrance. She enlisted Melissa Mendoza of Knot Too Shabby Events to coordinate the party, along with Khalilah of A Boxed Event to design a dream lounge & photo booth area. Bella Florals by Theresa designed the gorgeous floral arrangements on each table using mostly white flowers. I loved how she added cotton & silver brunia to each centerpiece!

The British Taxi brought the Hodge family from their home to The RiverRoom and back home at the end of the night! The family had a grand entrance into the room to officially start the birthday party! Brick Street Cinema was hired to capture it all on video!

Etc. Party Rentals provided the beautiful black and white demask runners & overlays, as well as the place settings, large cylinder vases for floating candles & all of the petal linens.

Of course, Tammy baked her own sweet treats but left the big task of the birthday cake up to her friend Stacey of Kissable Cakes! Tammy & Stacey have teamed up for all 2015 cake orders! So glad to see their businesses growing. On a side note, congratulations to Tammy for opening up a new store front starting in January 2015!

So, let us tell you how the party went from a birthday party to a surprise vow renewal. Tammy invited all of the guests telling them to come to her birthday party and it was just that until around 9:00pm! While all of the guests were dancing and enjoying tunes with DJ Nick of DJ Professionals & Video, Melissa secretly arranged for Eric (Tammy's husband) and Pastor Mike from their church to stand in the middle of the dance floor, while everyone else continued to dance. Meanwhile, Tammy was doing a quick change into a stunning two-piece white suit from Camille's of Wilmington. Tammy walked out and had her perfect moment with her family and friends right there! Eric & Tammy exchanged their vows after 5 years of marriage but the first time in the presence of their friends and family members.

Tammy rented the photo booth from DJ Professionals so guests had a great time taking silly photos! AM Coffee Bar also served up delicious specialty coffees while Middle of the Island stuffed us with a delicious meal! The Audio Visual People provided the hanging Edison lights to top off our old Hollywood glam look! Brooke with Southern Bee Designs drew the chalkboard bar & buffet area with some cute quotes about friends & family!

The RiverRoom had a wonderful evening pampering Tammy & her guests! Happy Birthday and we wish you and Eric an eternity of love & happiness with your wonderful sons!

  1. Hello friend! It’s my wedding anniversary and I want to celebrate this event with my close friends only that’ why I came here to get some ideas about location for vows. Please help and provide a beautiful place for just 50 people.
