Sarah Morgan
Sarah was in charge of a lot of the marketing for The RiverRoom! She worked with our social media, including Instagram, Facebook, and Tumblr. During events, Sarah did a great job with writing the blogs for each event, as she took photos of the layouts and events and included descriptions!
"This internship gave me a lot of useful experience dealing with clients, planners, vendors and guests. It also gave me insight to the booking and contract side of wedding planning."
Majoring in Business with a concentration in Marketing, Sarah hopes to work with marketing for a pharmaceutical company. She is doing a marketing internship for a pharmaceutical company in Raleigh, NC this summer!
Carson DuBose
Carson was able to learn more about the events industry by working as a full time intern at The RiverRoom. She planned an event from start to finish, as well as assisted with marketing, and stepped up as venue manager during several events. She prepared the majority of event documentation and coordinated event details with the clients.
"I have enjoyed learning and getting to know more about the event industry as well as the Event Manager position at The RiverRoom. I have been able to work with different types of clients and vendors, as I have worked in the office, as well as on event days. It has been a great experience!"
Majoring in Recreation, Sports Leadership, and Tourism Management with a concentration in Tourism Hospitality and Events, Carson is graduating this May, 2016. She plans on becoming an event planner or venue manager, with the hope of becoming an event and/or meeting coordinator for a large corporation in the future!
Claire Johnson
"I liked being involved with every aspect of an event before, during and after the fact. Taking the events held at The RiverRoom and marketing them to highlight what the venue has to offer was a great learning experience."
Majoring in Communication Studies, Claire hopes to pursue a career in the sports industry as a PR/Event Coordinator!
Lindsay England
Lindsay focused most on marketing activities, learning the process of booking clients and getting to know many of the planners and vendors in Wilmington!
"My favorite part about the internship was getting to see all of the different decorating ideas, themes and creativity that went into each event and seeing how happy the clients were with the outcome!"
Majoring in Business Administration and Marketing, Lindsay aspires to be an event planner/coordinator and hopes to one day own her own venue!
