Megan & John Pearson 10.21.16

Megan and John Pearson tied the knot on a sunny October afternoon on the JW Brooks deck of The RiverRoom. The deck was arranged with white benches for guest seating. Following the reception, everyone gathered inside The RiverRoom for the reception. The color scheme of the night was blush pink and gold - lots and lots of gold. We love a well executed color scheme and Dawn Wallace did an amazing job with planning and decorating the space. Tables were covered in blush pink linens and gold sequins table runners. Each table was topped with handmade centerpieces of gold wine bottles, a mirror charger, and a gold glitter table number. The chalkboard bar was decorated with a personalized calligraphy design by Brooke of SouthernBee Designs. Middle of the Island put together an amazing dinner of marinated chicken, pork tenderloin, or shrimp pasta with sides of green beans, mac and cheese, scallop potatoes, squash casserole, caesar salad and rolls. Banana pudding, assorted cupcakes, and cake were served for dessert. The couple had a great alternative to a guest book - a canvas with their wedding date printed on it and guests signed around the date. The newlyweds plan on hanging the canvas in their home to remind them of the love and support from all their friends and family members. The bride and groom, as well as their guests, danced the night away, thanks to the awesome DJ of My Wedding DJ. As the night came to a close, Mr. and Mrs. Pearson were sent off by a tunnel of sparklers. Congratulations to Megan and John!

Allie & Dan Vetere: Two Less Fish in the Sea 10.14.16

There isn't a more fitting place to get married for a couple with a nautical themed wedding than on the JW Brooks deck with the Cape Fear River as the backdrop. Allie and Dan exchanged personalized intimate, yet hilarious vows that had guests crying and laughing the whole time. White benches and chairs were arranged on the deck for guests seating. Following the ceremony, guests made their way into The RiverRoom. It was arranged with one of our table layouts, a table mix of round and rectangle tables. Tables were lined with crisp white linens, navy stripe runners and a simple centerpiece of white baby's breath. A personalized koozie and a thank you card were placed at each seat for guests to take home as a favor. As an alternative to the traditional wedding cake, Allie and Dan chose to have a donut tower from Wake-n-Bake Donuts. It was a huge hit with guests! A fun way for guests to stay entertained throughout the night, a photo booth was set up with homemade props for guests to take pictures with and post using the hashtag #HappilyEverVetere. DJ David of My Wedding DJ kept everyone on their dancing feet all night. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Vetere!

Stefani & Ryan Butschle 10.1.16

Stefani and Ryan tied the knot on the JW Brooks deck of The RiverRoom on a beautiful Saturday in Downtown Wilmington. Following the ceremony, guests gathered in The RiverRoom for the reception. The decor was very minimal, but had a very southern chic feel. Tables were lined with white linens and brown table runners with wooden chargers, baby's breath, and lanterns as centerpieces. The chalkboard bar was decorated with mason jars of baby's breath with a personalized design that matched Stefani and Ryan's theme done by SouthernBee Designs. DJ David kept the party going all night with a variety of different songs. Bride Stefani and her long time best friend did a duet performance of "Shoop" by Salt-n-Pepa while other friends sang backup. It is their go-to song to sing in the car so of course they had to perform it! The newlyweds danced the night away surrounded by their friends and family. The night ended with a sparkler send off for the new Mr. and Mrs. Butschle. Congratulations!

#HappilyEverTome: Brandi & Alex 6.25.16

With fingers and toes crossed, the rain held off long enough for Brandi and Alex to have a beautiful ceremony on the J.W. Brooks deck of The RiverRoom. The white benches arranged for guests we are nice change from the traditional white chairs. 

Following the ceremony, guests came inside The RiverRoom to an elegantly decorated reception. Tables were covered in navy linens, accompanied by gold chiavari chairs. White floral centerpieces really added a fresh pop of color against the dark decor.

Following a buffet style dinner of marinated grilled chicken, pork tenderloin, green beans, squash casserole, bacon wrapped scallops, seasoned potatoes, rice and baked apples, guests enjoyed a couple unique cake flavors. The bride and groom cake of choice was called "Unicorn Breath", which was chocolate and raspberry puree, lavender and honey, as well as vanilla and pink champagne cupcakes. 

Adam with My Wedding DJ had guests on their feet dancing all night! Alex was quite the Michael Jackson fan and was not afraid to show off his dance moves. They closed the night with the bouquet and garter toss.

Heather & Shawn: #HappilyEverKling 6.26.16

Heather and Shawn said their vows in the company of their closest friends and family on a Sunday evening on the J.W. Brooks deck of The RiverRoom.

Inside, guests could find numerous activities to keep them entertained and having fun all night long!  They had a selfie station with different hats, masks, and a few selfie sticks. You can't have a selfie station without a clever hashtag #HappilyEverKling! A Wii console was set up in the front of the room and cornhole was out on the deck. 

Tables were decorated with sleek black linens, gold placemats and white plates at each seat, while the pink napkins added a nice pop of color. Centerpieces were simple arrangements of white hydrangeas and candles. Their 63 guests enjoyed creamy penne pasta, chicken, and baked ziti from A Taste of Italy.

  

A Family Affair provided 2 cakes: one classic, with a topper that read "To the Moon & Back" and one humorous cake themed from the cartoon show "Rick and Morty".

Every seat had a chocolate surprise, but only 2 had a lucky Golden Ticket. The DJ called up the lucky winners to do give the Bride and Groom a rather special gift. Each winner got to smash a piece of cake into the Bride and Groom's faces! What a clever and funny idea!

  

The bride and groom, as well as their guests, ended the night with a beautiful sunset off the Cape Fear River and a little cornhole.

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Davis: Jon & Michelle 5.21.16

The sun was shining on Jon and Michelle as they said their vows on the J.W. Brooks deck of The RiverRoom. The deck was decorated with white chairs for guests and white birch dividers for the backdrop of the ceremony.

The room was decorated beautifully with soft pink and white with burlap, lace and wooden accents to give a very rustic feel. To make the reception more personal, pictures of Jon and Michelle were placed around the room.

  

The center pieces were flower arrangements sitting on top of wood chargers with candles surrounding them. Each table also had a number wedged in the cork of a wine bottle that was decorated with different designs of twine and lace.

A feature we absolutely loved was the lounge area that was set up inside! A few couches and cocktail tables were arranged near the bar to create a comfortable place for guests to socialize or even have a seat to rest their dancing feet!

Dinner and small desserts were provided by Bon Appetit. Dinner consisted of roast beef, chicken florentine, grilled veggies, roasted potatoes and rolls, followed by chocolate covered strawberries and an assortment of mousse. One Belle Bakery made the elegant four-tiered wedding cake.

The sister of the bride drew the simple, but meaningful design on the chalkboard bar. The three hearts symbolize Jon, Michelle, and their daughter Emerson and the infinity sign is for infinite love between the three of them. It was such a sweet, personal touch!
