Lora and Mitch "tied the knot"

It was our pleasure to wed Lora and Mitch on Saturday, May 25, 2013! Lora and Mitch got married on The RiverRoom's waterfront deck at 3:30pm! Chris Johns, a local cellist, played the soothing ceremony music on the deck. Lora and her mom made a gorgeous white backdrop to center against the brick wall made out of bed sheets (but you would never know)! Penelope Morningstar officiated the ceremony, which lasted about 15 minutes. The short ceremony was followed by a reception inside The RiverRoom! You can tell Summer is right around the corner! It's getting hot here in Wilmington but we love it!

Melissa, (that's me), was hired as day-of coordinator to make sure that Lora and Mitch's day went flawlessly. The best part about my job is setting up the room in the morning and then seeing the beautiful, smiling faces of our happy couple once they enter the room for the first time.

Mitch and Lora chose a navy and white color scheme with aqua accents. For this cocktail style reception, they rented extra bistro tables from L&L and offered some tables for guest to sit too. The centerpieces were stunning - designed from a florist back home for the couple, Village Florist. They used lanterns with various greenery and magnolia leaves from the florist's yard! The tablescape was topped off with a sailor knot to represent the love they tied today!

Adam from DJ Professionals got the reception going with introductions and then the first dance. Lora and Mitch danced to "You Are The Best Thing" by Ray Lamontagne. Then, they did a joint parent dance with Lora dancing with her father and Mitch dancing with his mother to "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor. Who lives in North Carolina and doesn't love James Taylor? No one! One extra special part of this wedding was that one of my cousins was an attendee. My cousin is old friend's with the handsome couple and it was great to see her, as well as all of their other sweet friends and family members cheering them on the dance floor.

Bon Appetit was in the house again serving an amazing dinner. The couple chose to have cupcakes from Coastal Cupcakes and key lime mousse from Bon Appetit for dessert. As party favors, guest were given mini-wine bottles of their favorite types of wine. They also had cute koozies to keep beverages cold! They brought in their own beer and wine to serve during the event. They opted to use one of The RiverRoom bartenders for $200. The Icehouse Lot from Park Rite Wilmington was rented to accomodate guest parking. The RiverRoom offered a parking attendant to "man the lot" for $150 too!

After dinner, guest spent the majority of the evening on the dance floor (as they should)! Adam was playing some great hits and we even got to finish the night with karaoke from the bride and groom to "Wagon Wheel" by Darius Rucker. (I personally like the Old Crow Medicine Show version better ;) )
