Tate Heaven: Melody and Austin's love story!

Saturday, October 20, 2012 was a day to remember for many. Downtown Wilmington was bustling with excitement and activity. The Beach 2 Battleship Triathlon was in full swing with countless runners and supporters taking the streets.  But for one special couple, it was much more; it was the day that Melody Durrette and Austin Tate became one. In front of a beautiful arbor surrounded by about 100 guests on the outside deck, Melody and Austin said "I Do" and started the rest of their lives together.

Melody and Austin had one of their beautiful engagement pictures, shot by Natasha Wells, out in front of the deck so that as guests arrived, they could write a special note to the couple. We thought this was such a great idea! Baca Photography shot Melody's bridal session and was there on the big day.

After the short ceremony, guests moved inside to the beautifully decorated The RiverRoom for the reception. The room looked great adorned with colors of black, white, and pink, along with gorgeous flower arrangements from Bella Florals to make the room look extra special.

Along with the gift table, Melody and Austin made sure to include a table specifically for remembering family and friends that had passed.

Guests enjoyed some delicious hors d'oeuvres and dinner catered by Art's Catering.
The cake, created by Chee-ze Plea-ze, was another beautiful feature of the happy couples' lovely reception.

Eric from DJ Professionals helped with the special moments such as the introductions and first dance, as well as keeping the party dancing all night long underneath star-like glistening twinkle lights. They shared their first dance as husband and wife to Laura Jansen's version of "Use Somebody".  Then, Melody danced with her father to "I loved her first" by Heartland. Next, Austin danced with his mother to "Mandolin Rain" by Bruce Hornsby.
To finish up the wonderful evening, all the guests headed outside and gave the couple a "sparkling" send-off which is always a special touch!

A HUGE shout out goes to Jana Ingraham from Design A Dream, for working with Melody to plan and coordinate the wedding and reception! She was awesome!~
Ray captured these awesome images of their two girls trying on Melody's wedding dress before the ceremony. So precious!

Here are a few more great shots that Ray captured!

Melody and Austin, it was a pleasure working with you and we wish you many happy years together!
