On Thursday, October 25, 2012, we hosted the 2nd Annual Wilmington Regional Film Commission Membership Social. The event was put on by The Production Source. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Film Commission...they make all things film happen in Wilmington! We have had a great year in local film with Iron Man 3, Meet the Millers and now the new hit series, Revolution. The Wilmington Regional Film Commission (WRFC) is a non-profit organization that assist new productions when they come to town. The non-profit is membership based, with about 150 active and loyal members.
Did You Know: "Film production has brought an estimated $200 million to Wilmington this year alone. Many local businesses have profited from this level of spending. As a local business who is supported by film production and understands how productions gather information about an area, I know that it is vital for my business to be listed in the Wilmington Regional Production Online Directory. It is the sole online directory that film production companies, their producters, and crew will rely on to find what they need."
- Carey Jones, President of The Production Source
The party was from 5:30pm - 9:30pm and allowed members and friends to socialize and network about upcoming and current films. Pine Valley Market provided a delicious spread of heavy appetizers, such as mini sliders, fruit and veggie platters, crab dip and more! Etc. Party Rentals provided the white linens for us. A Boxed Event and Design Perfection created GORGEOUS floral centerpieces for each table. They do such amazing work separately and when they get together...it's even better!
If anyone is interested in becoming a member of the WRFC, please contact Tori Jones at tori@wilmingtonfilm.com.
