2011 is running out but not before Melissa and Tanner tie the knot on December 30. Melissa Witschen and Tanner Green were married at
Kenan Chapel at 2:30pm today. The newly married couple was joined by 80 of their closest friends and family for a reception at
The RiverRoom. The room was dimly lit with white hanging lanterns across the white ceiling beams. It looked really beautiful!
L&L Tent & Party Rentals hung the lanterns and provided all of the linens and chinaware.
The guests this evening were hit with the dancing bug because they sure knew how to groove. Thanks to DJ Jeremy with
DJ Professional and Videos for spinning the tunes. The couple selected artist such as Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay and of course, all the dance party favorites. The couples first dance was to "Angel" by Jack Johnson. Melissa and her father danced to "It's a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong and Tanner and his mother danced to "Somewhere over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. The photographer for the evening was
Taken By Sarah and the caterer was
A Thyme Savor. The food for the evening included appetizers like grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup and gourmet cheeses and fruit. The dinner course included a prime rib carving station, crab cakes with delicious salad and bread and more!
Moxie's Floral Design Studio provided the beautiful floral centerpieces. Lastly, the wedding cake was made by
Willy's Bakery. My favorite part of the entire event was when Melissa and Tanner cut the cake to discover the sex of their unborn child. This was such an exciting and touching moment for everyone. I really enjoyed watching everyone's reactions. To end the evening, the couple was sent off through a row of sparklers into a limo to spend the rest of their lives as Mr. and Mrs. Green.
Thank you to everyone who made this event so successful. Melissa and Tanner-we wish you an eternity of love and happiness. Congratulations!
