Rachel and Andrew's October Wedding!

On Sunday, October 13, 2013, Rachel Firestone became Mrs. Andrew Diaz on The RiverRoom's waterfront deck. The ceremony took place at 5:30pm and was officiated by Skip Corbett of A Beach Wedding Minister. The cool weather was perfect for a deck wedding and for great pictures.

The room was decorated in beautiful fall themed colors. Etc. Party Rentals provided the eggplant colored linens with touches of light coral throughout. The centerpieces were of a floral bouquet, tea light candles, and a unique wine bottle with the table number on them. Rachel's sister and maid of honor, Jess, designed the tablescape and did a beautiful job assembling the floral centerpieces. Also, on each table there were homemade chocolate covered pretzels and candies on them made by Rachel's Aunt!

These unique escort cards were actually handmade by a family member! They burned the edges themselves, creating a nice rustic finish (we do not recommend this indoors). The escort cards guided guests to a table, marked by a number on a wine bottle. Each table was given a different number so Rachel and Andrew asked each guests to write them a little note to read on their first, second, third, fourth and so on anniversary. Since there were 12 tables, they have 12 bottles of wine to open on each anniversary for the first 12 years of their marriage. We loved this idea!

Nick was the DJ for the night with DJ Professionals. Rachel and Andrew had their first dance to "Easy to Love You" by Theory of a Deadman. Rachel chose "My Girl" by The Temptations as the song for the father/daughter dance. Halfway through, Andrew joined in with his sweet daughter, Lauren.

Flower girl Lauren right before the ceremony!
Kelly Edwards from Kelly Edwards Photography captured precious moments throughout the night of the happily married couple and their guests. A photo booth was set up for the guests to pick their accessory of choice and take a picture to take home! The Audio Visual People also provided hanging Edison lights in the room!

Sweet and Savory catered for the first time at The RiverRoom for Rachel and Andrew's reception dinner! The menu included garden fresh salad, beef tenderloin, a nice vegetable medley, a chicken and risotto dish and more! We can't wait to have Sweet and Savory here again! (They're one of the caterers at our upcoming That Knot Wedding!) Various wine and beer was served by Sweet and Savory during the cocktail hour. They even had some local North Carolina wines from Duplin Winery.
Champagne was passed out to all the guests for a toast right before the cake cutting. The groom's Best Man, Ian, did a touching speech to the newlyweds. Traci Fowler baked the pretty four-tier white wedding cake!

A sparkler send-off was the perfect ending to this gorgeous wedding! We wish you luck in your future years together, Rachel and Andrew! It was my privilege as their day-of coordinator to be a part of such a loving bond! You two are amazing! Enjoy your honeymoon!

  1. Atlanta Wedding venues are among the top wedding destination for all the couples as their arrangements fill love and romance in the air. I attended just one wedding there and it was really fab.
