Mr. and Mrs. Lary

Baca Photography
This afternoon, Sunday, September 8th, Kimberly Byrd became Mrs. Kimberly Lary! Kim and Chris had their wedding ceremony at the beautiful venue, The Atrium, which is located a couple streets up from The RiverRoom. Following the ceremony, guests arrived at The RiverRoom for cocktail hour and the reception. While waiting for the bride and groom to make their grand entrance, the deck was open for guests to enjoy some appetizers, cold beer and the classic, Southern game, cornhole.

The RiverRoom was beautifully decorated inside with homemade decorations by the bride, as well as A Boxed Event contributing the centerpieces and the antique chairs for the sweetheart table. The rustic-theme centerpieces were mason jars, flowers and candles atop of a wooden base.

The Audio Visual People special ordered grape vine lights for Kim to top off the total rustic look. Combined with the Edison lights and waterfall effect lights, the room looked radiant! Almost as radiant as our gorgoues bride!

Kim and Chris chose Baca Photography to shoot their big day. Ray Baca is a true wedding photographer who puts all his time and energy in making your big day even better! Ray didn't miss a beat when being there to capture their wedding!

Once the bridal party arrived to the reception, we introduced them into The RiverRoom. David with DJ Professionals was the DJ/MC of the night. Kim and Chris had their first dance to "Turn the Lights Down Low" by Lauryn Hill and Bob Marley. Then, Kim danced with her father. Chris also took a very special dance with his mother. We all cried after this one. After dinner, we continued with a few more formal dances...Kim danced with her stepfather and Chris took a dance with his daughter.

Everyone gettin' low but the groom decided to stay up and watch his pretty bride!
Catering was provided by Middle of the Island, where they served a southern buffet including fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, banana pudding and more! All guest had their own mason jar to drink out of and could even write their names on it with chalk! A family friend, Faith, bartended for the guests serving two keg beers and a wine selection.

The guest book was super cute. It was a family tree where guests stamped their thumbs on the branches. They also asked each guest to leave them with a wedding wish/advice. Guests were allowed to take the mason jar at their place setting home as a party favor, as well as wedding koozies. They even had a candy bar with purple and gray candies!

Imaginary Cakes brought in a gorgeous 3-tier cake. She stayed true to Kim's rustic-inspired theme. The cake even had marbled gray and purple bark made of fondant. Kim's colors were gray and purple so it was perfect!

Etc. Party Rentals provided all of the linens and extra tables and chairs. We did total seating for 86 with a sweetheart table. One of my favorite rental items from Etc. is the hanging window that can have vinyl pictures of the Bride and Groom. We hung the window frame on one of The RiverRoom's beige walls. We also clothespinned black and white photos of Kim and Chris to a piece of twine on the wall too.

Kim and Chris hired me (Melissa) as their day-of coordinator so I was here setting it all up for them. It was so fun to spend time planning with Kim and then being able to lay it all out on the wedding day. We paid close attention to all of the details. One of Kim's biggest wishes was to have a fabulous party with all of her loved ones to remember...so we did everything as different and unheard of as possible. We did our best to think outside of the box. Working with Khalilah of A Boxed Event on the event design made this even easier!

To end the night, Kim and Chris did a boat send off! Kim's dad brought his boat down from Raleigh and they were able to dock it out from along the Cape Fear Riverwalk. This was such a fun moment with they waved goodbye to all of their loved ones as the evening turned into night behind them! Kim and Chris were such a pleasure to get to know. Their love radiates when they walk into the room! We couldn't be happier for you two! Have a great time on your honeymoon Mr. and Mrs. Lary!
