We had the opportunity to ask Matt a few questions about how he got started and some interesting facts about his journey through photography. So, here's some inside scoop on the wonderful and talented Matt McGraw.
1. How did you first get started in photography?
"I started in High School working for the local newspaper shooting sports in the Midwest … started photo-ing Weddings in 2002."

"Weddings since 2002"

3. What is your favorite event to shoot?
"Weddings"
4. Is there a favorite spot downtown you like to take pictures at?
"The RiverRoom of course :) I love downtown so all over really."
5. In your opinion, what is the most important thing when capturing the perfect shot?
"I like to capture who they really are not just your posed images. The best shots are the ones they do not know about."
6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
"Still photo-ing Weddings. I love what I do."
7. What would you say your photography style is?
"Photojournalistic"
8. What makes you stand out from other photographers?
"My lighting skills have been a work in progress since the beginning. My style really emphasizes lighting. And thus have created a style that is a bit not the norm. When someone calls most of the time they are looking for my style and not just a photographer."
9. Who is your inspiration (if you have one)?
"I was fortunate to have good mentors in High School. I worked with some award winning photojournalist."
10. If you could photograph any place in the world where would it be & why?
"I’ve been fortunate to have photo-ed all over the world. I love Wilmington and Charleston, SC. Are my two favorites."
