Derek & Jessica's Black & White September Wedding!

The RiverRoom hosted Derek & Jessica's wedding on Sunday, September 21, 2014. The guests gathered on the deck outside along the Cape Fear River to watch the bride and groom say their vows. The ceremony was set up facing the pretty brick wall of the JW Brooks Building with seating for 50 guests. The officiant for the ceremony was Penelope Morningstar.  Penelope has done a number of weddings at The RiverRoom and she's always a joy to work with! The bride's brother, Josh, played acoustic guitar for the guests.

Following the ceremony, the guests came inside The RiverRoom for the unique, black and white beach-themed reception. The white table linens and black runners were provided by Etc Party Rentals. White and black lanterns were used on every other table, with beach sand, candles and curly willow filled tall cylinders on the other tables. Guests sat at round tables and the bridal party sat at one long table in the center of the room! The flower bouquets and corsages were done by Bella Florals by Theresa.  KMI Photography was on site to take pictures of the bride, groom and guests.

The food was catered by Middle of the Island with beer and wine provided and poured by Wilmington Wine.  A family friend baked the cupcakes, cake pops and the cake. The whole party enjoyed music provided by DJ Professionals and Video throughout the evening.

We had a great time hosting Derek & Jessica's wedding, and we thank them for choosing us to spend their big day with! Congratulations!! We wish you many, many more years of love and happiness!
