On Sunday, September 14th, 2014, Alex and Matt celebrated their wedding ceremony and reception here at The RiverRoom!  The couple was able to accommodate all of their guests close by at the Hilton in Downtown Wilmington, where the bridal party also got ready for the wedding.

The coupled decided on blues and metallic color scheme which was perfect for our coastal view location.  Each of the four bridesmaids wore a different style and type of dress which we foresee to continue as a 2015 wedding trend. This added such an element of surprise with variety and spunk to the bridal party! Han Hills led the ceremony on our deck which was set up with benches for an intimate gathering. Everything came together smoothly thanks to event planner Victoria Rivas of A Boxed Event. Allen from Salty Lens Photography captured all of their precious moments by the water!

Inside for the reception, the room was set up with 2 rectangular farm tables in the middle and along the back wall surrounded by 6 round tables. The round tables were staggered with royal blue and light blue linens complimented with black napkins provided by ETC Party Rentals and Party Suppliers. Khalilah, lead stylist/designer of A Boxed Event created the bridal party flowers, which included a natural bouquet and baby's breath head wreath as well as all centerpieces on the round tables which included white hydrangeas, eucalyptus and green roses accompanied by small candles. On the rectangular tables, there was a lace runner sitting beneath alternating royal blue vases and tall white candles.  The colors & placement really complimented each other on the dark wooden tables.

There were three cakes provided by Hot Pink Cake Stand.  Each one had a different design to go with the different flavors. The first had three alternating layers with strawberries on top.  The center cake was a decorative, single layered cake.  The third was a two tiered cake with blueberries on each layer. Across the room, there was a "Life is Sweet" table set up with snacks and drinks provided by a local seafood restaurant, Catch, owned by previous Top Chef contestant & James Beard Award semi finalist Chef Keith Rhodes who also catered the wedding. The bride and groom also had three amazing friends who helped serve the beer, wine and sangria.  A little bit of everything!

Thanks to The Audio Visual People, both the ceremony on the deck and the reception inside were lit with streamed Edison lights.  DJ Professionals and Video provided all the music and introductions as well as a fun photobooth for all 60 guests to enjoy during cocktail hour.  Everyone enjoyed themselves and the celebration of Alex and Matt. Congratulations newlyweds! And thank you Matt for your service to our country!
