Laura and Mike's big day at The RiverRoom!

On Friday, April 5, 2013, Laura Verdon married her soulmate, Mike Green! They tied the knot on The RiverRoom's waterfront deck! Surrounded by 90 of their closest friends and family members, Laura and Mike said "I Do" around 5:00pm. The ceremony was short and sweet and officiated from a family friend, Raymond Garrison. 

Immediately following the ceremony, Laura, Mike and their bridal party went off to take pictures along the Cape Fear Riverwalk with photographer, Amy Allen. We loved working with Amy! She's very professional and attentive! Here are some of our favorite shots from Amy Allen Photography.

While the bridal party was out taking pictures, the rest of the guests entered The RiverRoom for cocktail hour. Middle of the Island Catering served passed hors d'oeuvres such as bacon-wrapped scallops, meatballs and a cheese and fruit display. Middle of the Island also provided a full buffet for dinner later in the evening. Family friends bartended beer, wine and select cocktails. They served a special "Lauratini" in honor of the Bride. The room looked fabulous with hanging Italian lights and pink and purple lanterns! They used Etc. Party Rentals for the extra seating, linens and wedding arbor. 

Laura created her table centerpieces with silk flowers and wooden branches in a vase with river rocks. The centerpieces went perfect with her pink and purple color scheme. The bouquets were designed by a florist at Harris Teeter in Mayfaire. She did a great job and was very affordable! Laura and Mike's guest book was a "Tree of Life" framed picture for guest to put their thumbprint and initials on each branch. They used Valarie of a local bakery for the pink ombre cake and tiramisu cupcakes! OMG - they were soo moist and tasty! 

Laura and Mike had their first dance after dinner to "Don't You Want to Stay Here" by Jason Alden and Kelly Clarkson. Then, Laura danced with her father to "Daughters" by John Mayer. Lastly, Mike danced with his mother to "Her Man" by Gary Allen. Everyone was invited on the dance floor next to join in on the couple's good luck dance. David with DJ Professionals & Video provided excellent DJ and MC service all evening.

I, Melissa at The RiverRoom, worked one-on-one with Laura to help her plan the wedding of her dreams. As her day-of coordinator, I was available for endless meetings, phone calls, emails and much more. On the big day, I was on site to decorate the room for Laura and Mike. Mike and Laura's big day came to a close at The RiverRoom around 10:00pm. Mike's family surprised Mike and Laura with a horse-drawn carriage to take them back to their hotel, Hilton Riverside. The carriage was waiting for them at the end of their sparkler send off. Congrats to Laura and Mike!!!
