Chris and Ashley's Wonderful Love

When Ashley Wood met Chris Shearin, she was sure he was the one. Ashley and Chris shared part of their love story with us by serving Sonic's Cherry Limeade and Sweet Tea at their wedding reception on September 2, 2012. The first night they hung out, they spent it at Sonic, drinking their two favorite drinks and discovering all of the amazing things about each other that they were soon to love.

Ashley became Mrs. Shearin after an outdoor ceremony at Hugh McRae Park at 6:00pm today. The happy couple was joined by 50 of their closest friends and family. Everyone traveled downtown to The RiverRoom for the wedding reception. The room was decorated very clean, crisp and elegant. Ashley's main colors were navy blue and ivory. She painted recycled bottles white and put white roses in them for centerpieces. There was plenty of space with only 50 guests so we were able to put the dance floor in the center of the room. Then, there were tables placed around the dance floor so guests from all tables could see the dances taking place.

Ashley and Chris entered The RiverRoom looking absolutely stunning. Then, Ashley and Chris had their first dance as husband and wife to "You and I" by Michael Buble. Then, Ashley danced with her father to "King of the World" and Chris danced with his mother to an upbeat song called "Dandelion".

A dessert bar was on the menu tonight! They provided lots of sweet treats for guest to enjoy, such as apricot & raspberry pie bites, grape soda meringues, chocolate chip cookies, brownies and more. Guest also munched on some fresh fruit and meat & cheeses. Ashley and Chris picked their favorite candies to put out on the candy buffet. Chris' favorite candies are Reese's and Snickers and Ashley's favorite candy is mint chocolate chip M&M's.

Ashley's brother, Matt, hand-painted the tree guest book. Guest were asked to sign their name on a branch.
The beautiful navy and ivory cake was created by Stacey at Kissable Cakes. This was the first time The RiverRoom had some of Stacey's cake and it was delicious. She even brought cupcakes for the staff! Thanks Stacey! We look forward to working with you in the future!

As the night came to a close, Ashley and Chris asked their guests to join them outside to send off some Chinese sky lanterns. They sent off 20 lanterns into the night sky over the Cape Fear River. The best thing about the lanterns is that they are biodegradable and flame retardant!

We are so happy for Ashley and Chris! CONGRATULATIONS! We'd like to thank you for allowing us to host your big day. We wish you all the love and happiness in the world!
