John and Shelly Mendoza 9.20.15

John and Shelly tied the knot on Sunday, September 20, 2015! The outside ceremony took place on the upper deck in front of a backdrop, handmade by the Mendoza's out of old doors! A few rows of seating was set up for guests on the upper deck and guests gathered around to watch the ceremony. Cocktail tables were used on the lower deck as an option for guests to stand at during the ceremony.


Once inside guests signed a leaf before finding their seats. The centerpieces consisted of a slab of wood with vases filled with floating candles and flowers as well as the menu in both english and spanish.



 Dinner, which was catered by KD'S Catering, served spicy cream and sausage dip, olives, pickles, and salad during cocktail hour. Dinner was a nice mix of spanish and southern food which included pomegranate chicken, steak and chicken fajitas, southern sweet potato crunch, and spanish style saffron rice.


For dessert cupcakes and wedding cake made by Fara was offered to guests. John and Shelly kept the top tier of the cake so that they could enjoy it again when they celebrate their first anniversary. Once the cake was cut it was time for dancing!!


DJ David from DJ Wilmington played a nice variety of music in both english and spanish which got everyone up and dancing! There was a short break on the dancefloor while Shelly threw her bouquet and for John to obtain and then toss the garter!


Before saying goodbye to the newlyweds, Shelly and John Mendoza, guests gathered around for a sparkler send off coordinated by planner, Laura Bullock.
