2014 Wilmington Fashion Weekend Accessories Trunk Show at The RiverRoom!

For those of you who missed the inaugural Wilmington Fashion Weekend April 3rd-6th, let me start by saying I'm sorry. You missed an amazing weekend of fashion, arts and community! Founders of WFW, TJ Dunn and Khalilah Olokunola, had a vision of what Wilmington Fashion Weekend would bring to Wilmington for local artist for years to come. We think they accomplished this and more! Wilmington Fashion Weekend consisted of a Grand Opening party at Bakery 105, the Trunk Show here at The RiverRoom and multiple fashion shows at the Wilmington Convention Center.
So, let me tell our readers a little bit about the trunk show! It was a free event and open to the public. Twenty-five North Carolina vendors were here to showcase their hand-crafted artisan skills, ranging from jewelry vendors, clothing, hats and more. One of the coolest things about the WFW was that portions of all the proceeds went to an amazing local charity in Wilmington called DREAMS. DREAMS goes into our community and works with kids who are in the most need of creative activities after school. Here, kids can learn every aspect of the arts. They even have a hip-hop dancing class and one of the students premiered her beautiful dance at the Emerging Designers show at WCC. To say the least, this is an amazing organization and we are so happy they were chosen to be the local charity recipient.
Here is a video about DREAMS created by The Good Life Film Company (also the official videographer of the weekend).

Now, here are pictures of all of the vendors showcased at the trunk show.
Be sure to check out their sites and buy local. Love local!
