It's a HOT one: Geoff and Betsy's RiverRoom wedding and reception

On Friday, June 29, 2012, Wilmington almost beat record heat! The high for the day was 99! Although it was hot outside, there was little humidity and guests were still able to enjoy the short outdoor ceremony with a slight breeze coming off the Cape Fear River. The ceremony began at 6pm. Immediately following, guests cooled down in The RiverRoom, where they enjoyed fun tunes from Adam with DJ Professionals and great tasting hors d'oeuvres from Middle of the Island Catering! The room looked beautiful with teal waterfall effect lights with their overall color theme of black, white, silver and turquoise. The couple also created a slideshow to display on our televisions with photos to tell the story of their love.

After the newly married bride and groom were introduced to the reception, it was time to drink champagne and toast the happy couple! 

Their first dance was "I and Love and You" by The Avett Brothers. By the way, I LOVE The Avett Brothers. Just saw them at Bonnaroo for maybe the 6th or 7th time and they always put on an amazing show. For those of you readers who have never seen them...please go!~ 

Next, Betsy danced with her father to "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin. Geoff also danced with his mother to "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban. The gorgeous cake was designed by Tammy Hodges with Creative Cake Design. Tammy does excellent work and her cakes are always very tasty! 

Then, it was time to get the party started. The couple danced the night away with 100 of their friends and family members. Betsy's sister in law, Maggie Smother, was here to photograph all of the special moments throughout the day. She has a photography company based out of Charlotte called Blue Ridge Photography. Julia's Florists provided bridal bouquets and rose petals to decorate around The RiverRoom. Also, big thanks to L&L Tent & Party Rentals for providing additional deck chairs and linens! 

At the end of the evening, guests lined up for a sparkler send off. The couple was escorted away in a limo by Azalea Limo. 

Congratulations to Geoff and Betsy! We are so happy for you two. You both looked stunning and we have such a good time hosting your most special day! We wish you all the love!
