Powerful Women 2015 Kickoff - Pooh Series Part I

Powerful Women is focused on empowering women to lead in their business & careers by building self confidence through workshops and networking opportunity. Khalilah Olokunola of A Boxed Event is the founder of this great organization. She continues to empower women with her event series and The RiverRoom is honored to host many of the monthly meetings. On Thursday, January 15, 2015, we hosted the first series from Winnie The Pooh. Last year, we focused on lessons in leadership taught by Dr. Seuss. This year, it's Pooh! We're all a fan of winnie the pooh stories but we never thought about how they can relate to every day life. Khalilah asked Mayor Pro tem, Margaret Hayes, to speak to the woman and then we each had the chance to create a 2015 vision board of what we wanted our year to be like.

Madiana Udeozo, a sales rep from Stella & Dot was here to showcase some of her jewlery pieces. Mitzie Isear from JuicePlus, a dietary suppliment usually in the form of tasty smoothies containing concentrated fruit and vegetable juice extracts fortified with added vitamins and nutrients also set up a vendor table to educate us about women's health and nutrition. Thyme Savor Catering served lite bites, as well as lemon drop martinis for the woman to enjoy. Shiang-ling Bissonnette from Queen B Studio did complimentary head shots for each lady too! Diana of Diana Rose Photography took photos during the event for us and captured all of these great shots seen in the blog! Zaida Robinson of Hospitality Creations made lots of sweet treats for us to munch on too! The night was uplifting, fun and encouraging!
