What’s more exciting for newly engaged couples than to meet and mingle with some of the best local vendors and other awesome couples all in one night? You tell me!! On Friday, March 22, 2013 we had our Spring Wedding Social where some adorably, in-love couples came to check out our space with the inside all decked out as a mock reception and the deck was staged as a mock ceremony! It gave a chance for brides and grooms to visualize what The RiverRoom can really offer them with a little help from some of our friends!
We had the awesome Etc. Party Rentals provide the décor and set-up for the mock ceremony on the deck, as well as the adorable grey, yellow, and white linens
(a color combo we LOVE to see in here!)
The centerpieces were beautifully designed by Theresa from Bella Florals. Each had different element about them to make them uniquely gorgeous and harmonious with each other!
The amazing Wendy from A Beautiful Event contributed a breathtaking arrangement as well!
A Boxed Event provided some extraordinary indoor decorations from color frames to hang on our brick walls, to drapery, and awesome rustic doors.
Brian McArtan (owner of The RiverRoom, DJ Professionals, Brick Street Cinemas, & Audio Visual People) was there MC-ing the event. You couldn’t miss him, he was wearing an awesome video name tag showing off a video from Brick Street Cinema. We’d love to thank The Audio Visual People for hanging gorgeous Edison lights(a huge 2013 Trend) from the ceiling that really added to the rustic nature of our space! We absolutely love them!!
We played "The Newlywed Game" with a bunch of our lovely couples to find out how well they actually know each other. Each person got one lip and one mustache to use as the answers as Brian called out questions pertaining to their relationships! The couples stood back to back so they couldn't see the others answers. If they didn't have the same answer, the couple was out! The last standing couple won an awesome date night courtesy of Riverboat Landing Restaurant, Nutt St. Comedy Club, & Wilmington Water Tours.
Bon Appétit |
Guests were able to try out dishes from 3 amazing caterers and get a feel for what type of food they’d like to serve at their reception. Don’t forget, we allow ANY outside caterer to come into our venue!
A Thyme Savor |
Luckily, Middle of the Island Catering, Bon Appetit, and A Thyme Savor catering graced us with their delicious samples and made a huge impact on the couples!
We were also more than grateful to have Alison from Alison’s Cakery to show off her incredible cake decorating skills and amaze everyone with her tasty cookies, cupcakes, & cake samples.
Believe me when I say, one bite of anything was NOT enough!
We were so excited to host Jess and her beautiful model from Fountaine Bridals who displayed two stunning 2013 favorite wedding dresses. For those newly engaged brides, this gave them an idea of where to find their perfect, dream dress locally!
Wilmington Wine provided the beverages for the evening and without a doubt kept the party going! At The RiverRoom, you can bring in your own bar & Wilmington Wine has always been such a pleasure to work with!
Amanda Baker (Center) |
Skip & Elaine Corbett from A Beach Wedding Minister were happily making their way around the Social available for the couples to consult with!
& Last but certainly not least, the spunky and sassy Amy from 1 of 13 Photography was there capturing every exciting moment of the event. She is a such a sweetheart and wonderful to work with. As you can see by these pictures, she’s nothing short of a true talent and any bride would be more than lucky to have her there to capture their big day! Thank you Amy!
One final thanks from all of us at The RiverRoom to all the vendors, couples, and friends who joined us that night! The Spring Wedding Social exceeded all of our expectations and it could not have happened without all these insanely talented and wonderful professionals that joined us that night! We look forward to seeing all of you again very soon!!
