Amy and Nick Thomas' Wedding Blessing

On Saturday, August 25, 2012, Amy and Nick Thomas celebrated their love and marriage with a wedding blessing at The RiverRoom. The couple got married when they were living in the UK so they wanted to have a celebration in Wilmington with all of their friends and family.

The room was decorated with white linens. Each table had a small mason jar filled with bright flowers. The linens were borrowed from the caterer and there was no need to rent additional seating from the 50 provided by The RiverRoom so they were able to keep cost low.

The event began at 5pm. Once guests were situated, Amy and Nick had a short indoor ceremony under the beautiful arch window overlooking the Cape Fear River. Amy and Nick used a traditional guest book with inspirational quotes about love and life. They also used a bird cage card box, which was a nice touch!

Afterwards, guests enjoyed a delicious buffet. Amy's friend and caterer, Matt Rogers, put together all of the food for the evening. He is also in charge of catering at UNCW so it was very nice of him to come help Amy and Nick on their big day. Matt had a sushi station, as well as a main buffet area with shrimp and grits, chicken and a pasta bowl. There were also passed roast beef sandwiches.

Guests spent the rest of the evening hanging out, dancing, drinking and socializing. The British Taxi delivered guests back to their vehicles at the end of the night. They just got some work done to The Silver Taxi, an 8 passenger stretch limo. That is one gorgeous car! One of Amy's friends took pictures at the event to capture all of their special moments.
