Joplin, Missouri

At 6:41 May 21st, 2011 Joplin, Missouri was struck by a tornado 13.8 miles long and 3/4 miles wide.  The Joplin Tornado swept through Missouri taking homes, memories and 151 lives.   This devastation is unthinkable to the sunny beaches of Wilmington, NC but try and place yourself in their shoes.

Rays dear friend was one of those lucky survivors of the tornado.  Although her life was spared it was still turned upside down.  She lost everything.  Her home, her business, her belongings.  Casey is starting from scratch.  Her 20 month year old daughter, Natalie is looking to a mother who does not know where to look for help.

Tonya, a good friend of Rays also is also lost in the ruin with no where to turn.
So lets help them.

Ray, of Baca Photography, and Amy McConnell, of 1 of 13 Photography,  went down to Joplin to witness the destruction, met with Casey and Tonya and began this cause to help friends in need.  Donations can be given to Tanya in hopes to raise enough money to purchase a new car which through she can work, travel to her family and friends and start new through a PayPal account using the email
carfortonya@gmail.com

Checks given to The RiverRoom, left with myself or Ray, made out to Tonya Miller or Casey Welch will be sent directly to the two girls and the little one.  Cash and Credit Cards are also welcome.  We are not asking for a lot from anyone but just a little from everyone will make the world of difference.

Check out more pictures and keep up with the cause through Rays facebook HERE.
Also, check out his mention from the news stations down in Wilmington HERE.

Thank you all for being SO fabulous!
