Kayla + Nathan: May 2017
How They Met:
Kayla and Nathan met on July 4, 2014 weekend through a mutual friend in Emerald Isle, NC. Kayla was spending the holiday weekend at the beach with friends and Nathan was stationed in Cherry Point, NC. After meeting, Kayla and Nathan were inseparable the entire weekend, and watched fireworks together at various beaches along the coast. Kayla went back to the University of Mount Olive for her senior year of college, and the two began dating. After college graduation, Kayla began graduate school at East Carolina University. Shortly after, Nathan was deployed. When he returned from his deployment, the two spent as much time together before Nathan re-enlisted and stationed in South Carolina.
How He Asked:
On June 18, 2016, Nathan and Kayla spent their last day together by enjoying movies and going to restaurants before Nathan moved to South Carolina to begin his re-enlistment. When it was time for Nathan to leave and begin his drive, the couple said their goodbyes and see-you-later's. Nathan started walking to his truck, Kayla turned to go back into her apartment. After only taking a few steps, Nathan said 'Hey, you forgot something!" When Kayla turned around, Nathan was down on one knee, asked if she would marry him, and put a ring on her finger!
The Wedding:
Kayla and Nathan will tie the knot on the JW Brooks deck of The RiverRoom with a reception inside to follow in May 2017. We cannot wait for these two to exchange their vows and make their dream a reality. Congratulations!
