Brigade Boys and Girls Club Kick-Off Party

Tonight, we hosted the Brigade Boys and Girls Club annual kick-off party. For those of you unfamiliar with the Brigade Boys and Girls Club, they are a local non-profit organization that serves over 1,300 youth in New Hanover and Pender Counties. They provide opportunities for organized sports and adventures for children who would otherwise have little or none. The BBGC website says that they offer "quality after-school and summer programs in a safe, positive, and supervised environment. Programs offered at the Club are built around five core areas: character & leadership development, education & career development, health & life skills, sports & fitness and the arts."
Angie Hill is the marketing coordinator for the organization and was the one who hosted the event, along with other board members. The kick-off party housed about 50 volunteers and members throughout the community. They were given beer and wine and light appetizers were served. The party was from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Angie gave a small PowerPoint presentation using our projector screen around 7:00pm to inform new members of what's been going on in our surrounding area and to keep everyone up-to-date.

We were honored to donate our space for such an amazing organization! Our owners, Brian and Tina McArtan, have been happy to work with the Brigade Boys and Girls Club for many years and now I'm happy to get involved with the organization too! We look forward to working with you again soon!
