Charo and Mike's Fiesta!

It's not every day that you meet a couple like Charo and Mike. They have great energy, share so much love and passion and are so friendly and down-to-earth. Upon meeting Charo and Mike back in April 2012, we pretty much became instant friends! The RiverRoom has been looking forward to their wedding for a long time and now that it's finally here...it was so worth the wait. Their western and Mexican colorful flair brightened up the room and Charo and Mike thought of so many awesome ways to decorate the space!

The room was absolutely GORGEOUS for this wedding. Moxie Floral Design Studio provided the succulent centerpieces, which were place over talavera tiles on top of Mexican throws! Moxie also designed Charo's bridal bouquet and her sister's bridesmaid bouquet. The bouquets might quite possibly be my favorite bouquets ever!

The orange linens were rented from L&L Tent & Party Rentals. They also provided the teal and white napkins, as well as additional 5 foot square tables and chairs. It was nice to have a mix of square and round tables. There were so many details thought about oh-so-perfectly. Charo put tall wheat stems in recycled liquor bottles throughout the room too. The guest party favors were special tequila bottles with Charo and Mike's name imprinted. I love their idea for the guest book. They used a calendar and asked each guest to sign on their birth date. It's a great way to remember your friends and families' birthdays too so no excuses if you forget their birthday! To top it all off, they dressed the room with white votive candles. The room was lit perfectly with the help of The RiverRoom's waterfall effect lights.

The intimate indoor wedding included 60 guests. Charo created a beautiful backdrop against one of The RiverRoom's natural beige walls made of various colors of crate paper and party streamers. The 5:00pm ceremony was casual and short, only lasting for about 15 minutes. Charo purchased a bright teal western rug that they stood on during the ceremony. Penelope Morningstar officiated the ceremony. After, guest were able to mingle around the room, enjoy some cocktails and a delicious Mexican buffet from Los Primos. For dessert, guest indulged in homemade chocolate tarts and other tasty treats from Choco Geo.  Joan of Choco Geo makes all sorts of "scrumptious yummies." for dessert inquiries - give her a call at 910.297.4142. Her chocolates not only looked beautiful but tasted great too! She also made a rainbow cake for the kids! Dennis Lee, one of Charo's good friends and talented photographer, traveled from Chicago to shoot the wedding. After we ate, guests spent the rest of the evening socializing, dancing and having fun. Mike's brother was the best man and Charo's sister was the maid of honor, both giving very sweet and funny toast to the new bride and groom. We wrapped it up around 9:30pm here but then some guest went out to enjoy some of Downtown Wilmington's local night life.
